Description

The label, founded by Øystein Aarseth (Euronymous), was also known as Deathlike Silence Records or simply Deathlike Silence. It was previously known as Posercorpse Music according to the book Lords of Chaos by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind. This is somewhat imprecise. Although Posercorpse served as a predecessor to DSP, Posercorpse was run/funded by the whole band in the 1980's (although it was never registered as a proper company), and it is presently (since 1997) a registered company owned by Necrobutcher.

Trivia

Planned releases:
● Mysticum - "Where the Raven Flies" (second working title, original working title was "Serpent Mysticism", it eventually became "In the Streams of Inferno", released on Full Moon Productions in 1996)
● Monumentum - In Absentia Christi (eventually released on Misanthropy Records in 1995)

Many other releases were planned to be released on the label at various points in time, by bands like Rotting Christ, Abruptum, Burzum, Deathchamber, Emperor, Hades, Incarnator, and several others, but due to the death of Euronymous, those were not possible.
