Lobotomized - Fucking Lobotomized

Metal drenched in punk and alcohol - 85%

halokaust, November 4th, 2009

This starts of with a nice, calm piano intro and you just know that there is something suspicious about this. A little later there is a sample and it is from Re-Animator, and not some random clip, you get it when you hear “Your father's been lobotomized!” After that they are merciless on the metal for the time there is left of the intro song, Fucking Lobotomized. Not that is band is in any particular brutal, but when you listen to it for the first time, you don't know what you are up to. The next track is Freak Fucker, and you get the band there. Drunken mixture of death and thrash metal with lots of punk influence and it's quite decent and fun too. The song Fucking Women is more of a grindcore song, but the song is cool so I'm not gonna complain about that. This band seems to worship filthy punk and death metal, and they do a real good job making dirty metal that is drenched in alcohol and you can imagine that there is some hobos playing. And if you look them up, you see that there really is some hobos playing, and their proud of it too.

If you look at the cover you see the band members, looking pretty much wasted, a table with lots of beer bottles, a Mental Funeral cd by Autopsy, a cd with some accordion music and their guitars with some band stickers on them(Slayer, Darkthrone, Regurgitate and another that I can't see which band it is). And I think that the cover pretty much sums up the music they are playing. If you turn to the other side, you see some guy who's drunk standing holding his dick out and peeing, and the track list. Funny thing here, all the song titles have the word “fuck” in it. Even on the Doomed cover, they just put “fucking” in there. There are three cover songs on this demo. Doomed, Abscess and of course GG Allin. The lyrics are funny, and if you didn't already know that this a not a serious band. More of a band started by some friends when they were drunk just for fun and to spread their perverted minds.

Their guitar sounds is good, the same with the drum sounds, much better than I expected. The guitar plays riff that's not just ripping of other guitar riff methods that many other bands these days are doing. The riffs are a little more creative and try to things their own way. There are also some cool solos in some songs too, the most memorable solo got to be the wahwah pedal rape solo in Freak Fucker. I like how the drumming takes a more punk approach, there isn't any blast beat there, and it's mostly just one bass drum instead of double. The music blends together nice and the vocal fits to. The vocals sounds a bit raspy on some song but that is okay for me. Try to imagine death/thrash vocals with a punk attitude, a bit pitch up and drunk, and that's mostly what they sound like.

Now, there is two versions of this, the original demo, and the No Posers Please re-release on vinyl which is the one I have and the one I reviewed. I don't know if it's just an error, but it has another track listing then the one on Metal-Archives, so if things got fuzzy for you, sorry about that.
