The Wakening

Death Beast - “The Wakening” is another sort of thrash resurrection album. Chock full of great riffs, this is everything you’d expect from a band on Barbarian Wrath. The vocals are a bit strange, and might take some getting used, but ultimately fit the music quite well. Basically, blackened thrash vocals with shrieks and wails that sound very funny at times. The production is also a bit odd. Kind of fuzzy and digital sounding but you’ll get used to it as well. This is what thrash is supposed to be: Straight up headbanging music without a care as to what others may think. If you’re a lover of thrash metal, you’ll be a lover of this, too.
