Ammit - Hammer of Darkness

Power Means Death Power - 90%

UnholyPoser, November 7th, 2007

Ammit is one of "those" bands from South America. Bands that don't try to by revolutionary but sound so damn energetic just because of sheer passion and metal fury! Hammer of Darkness is a stabbing black thrash record. It's ugly, dirty and it simply reeks evil atmosphere. Ammit also has got few traits that make the band sound unique. Guitars sound very weird and raw, sometimes even bit out of tune, vocals are clean but sung in a grotesque and hateful manner. The result is better than the average low metal growls, mr. Czar Yang sounds plainly sick! Lyrics are simple and hateful, repetitive metallic spells. A few intros and occasional use of keyboards adds to the demented atmosphere of the record. One track is called "Acid" and the band sounds like they've taken it more than once. They also raped Accept's song "Fast as a Shark" and turned this heavy metal beauty into a dirty black/thrash bitch. No problem for me, this version of the songfits very well to the rest of the material, it almost sounds like one of their attacks. Get this one - while listening you may feel like you're on acid somewhere in the middle of south - american hell.
