Sargeist - Funeral Curses

Fucking Awsome Rarities! - 95%

Hellfukk666, April 23rd, 2007

This album consists of all of Sargeists bonus tracks and tacks from splits. If you liked Satanic Black Devotion you'll love this album. Some of the riffs you may notice are recycled into SBD and DotHP but are still different and I love both albums. The production is clear and all of the instruments are heard but it doesn't take away from the evil sound. It contains all of the necro buzzsaw Darkthronesque headbanging riffs and sorrorwful black melodies we've come to love from Sargeist. The drumming is filled with high hats, bass galloping along with the melodies and stomping slow and dead with the slower necro riffs. For black Metal this drumming is good. The bass blends with the drums and guitar. Shatraug's vocals spew forth rasps of hateful blasphemy while we have Torog with his melancholic screams of emotion from the deepest mountain caves!

My favorite song on here would have to be "Reaping with Malice and Plague" with followed by "Cursed be the Flesh I have Spared" and "Wraith Messiah". Althought they are all good, the weakest song on here would have to be "Sinister Glow of the Funeral Torches" but only because its the most repetitive but its got a great evil slow headbanging riff.

Get this album if you love Satanic Black Devotion. It's not as good but it's better than Disciples of the Heinous Path in my opinion.

HAIL SATAN!
