Sinister Creation - Reversed Existence

Something fresh - 80%

A raw approach to melodic death metal by Sinister Creation. A very good debute demo which holds four powerful tracks and one bonus video as a goodie. When the demo kicks off with Dead By Dawn, there´s no doubt about this demo´s potential. The raw, almost Venom-ish sound really works like hell and gives the songs some live power while other melodic death metal releases are usually too polished.
The material is mainly mid-tempo and heavy, packed with sinister atmosphere.
Dead By Dawn gets your neck on the move and the banging won´t stop until the last chord of Inhuman. DBD is the fastest one here and it also has a quite wicked solo. Next one, Dying Moment is heavy and it´s catchy. The mid-tempo number begins with a crushing riff and after a while, a Diablo-ish melody appears and then they go again. Silent Chaos begins with a lead pattern that doesn´t seem to work at first shot, but after you give it a couple times, it shows it´s strenght and works along the other tunes as good as them. The song has a very dark feeling on it and it gets darker when the disc reaches Inhuman. The song begins with a memorable clean-guitar work and then bursts into flames and makes competitors pale with envy. The longest number on the demo is a fine one to end the demo with it´s depressive mood, but the clean guitars are drowned under the bass drums and distortion guitars due to the fucked up recording sessions where the band had some trouble with this-and-that. The "flawed" sound doesn´t matter really at all since this is a demo afterall and it´s one of the best demos I´ve heard lately. If one has a chance to see SC live, go see and go apeshit! Oh, yeah...and take a shot at this one too!
