Exploding Zombies - Several Severed Heads

Several Pretty Good Songs - 75%

TaXi18, June 21st, 2005

This is a solid, average death metal release. However, one thing that stands out above the rest is the extremely competent drum work, comperable to Tony Laureano of Hekal Tiamat-era Acheron. The vocalist does some pretty solid work, and has the occaisional high pitched growl to back up his gutteral growl, another technique found in Hekal Tiamat-era Acheron. Lyrically nothing new, but still solid vocals. Don't look to this album for crystal production and interesting bass work, but rhythmically this band can really work well together, and this is a splendid release. Listen intently for the occaisional amazing guitar work, and you will hear several amazing solos throughout the album. Once again, just a faily average death metal release, no new ground covered here, but an enjoyable listen nonetheless.
