Hell Spirit - Demo I

Finland summons up the Old School of Metal - 90%

Alterno, September 21st, 2005

It's a long time ago since I last enjoyed a demo album so much like this.
I don't know much about this band but I could only say that their first demo release shows how great they are. It summons up the 80s metal with a lot of influences mainly in a thrash/black combination and its truely wonderful.
The demo consists of Venom like riffs, very good blast beat drumming, the songs are not always fast varying from mid-paced to fast-paced, Vocals are strong distorted, remind me of Samael's Vorph in "Worship Him", sounds familiar to your ears and lovable if you're into the style.
Thrashy old school death guitar riffs, out of solos but that's the way it should be, all of this combination creates a "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" cold atmosphere almost freezing yet very different from it.
The sound quality is little dirty but in the best form, i think it could not be any better and suitable than what is used, Every single instrument could be heard clearly without hiding another. (Two Thumbs up for the production).
The time length of the demo is not too short as its suitable for its style and might be boring if it was longer and goes the same. (May be additional track or two won't hurt).
The guys know how to do it in the old school form very well. They know how to focus on one style of combination in the whole demo, that's why I won't describe each track alone, it also prevents you from having a favorite song here if you're not a big fan of the genre.

*Old school metal lovers (80s black/death/thrash) get this freaky debut demo album its done for you (Highly recommended).*
Waiting for the next release from HellSpirit to assure how good they are and whether they have something new to present or that's all they got in this demo.
