Excretion - Voice of Harmony

Lost Swedish Death Metal! - 99%

Velvet_Creation, December 7th, 2005

Finally!! After quite some time looking for this album I finally found it!

I must confess I've been looking for it only because it was released on Wrong Again Rec, which was a GREAT label, well known for showing the world some amazing bands (most swedish) like Arch Enemy, In Flames, Naglfar... and some not much well known like Eucharist, Miscreant or, in this case, Excretion.

Voice of Harmony is exactly what I was expecting, Melodic Swedish Death Metal. However, this is HEAVY, the vocals can be described as a desperate growl and the most important, the "melody level" is not sickening like in most of the bands in the style! The Maiden-ish guitar duo is still here, just perfect, backed up by a fast and precise double bass drum, alternated with some slower and heavy parts and a few (very few...) blasts.

The bottom line is: Excretion was very similar to old In Flames but more "macho"! Unfortunatelly, they are just one more band in the endless list of great but unsucessfull bands...
