Massground - Emblem Stay Evil

Good Stuff - 85%

jciscrazy, March 17th, 2005

Recently bought this CD on ebay without knowing anything about it and figured I would write a review so you didn’t have to do the same. Over all a great CD, sounds to me a lot like Mortician. The Covers are well done; they don’t have a cover song feel it sounds just like the bands own material, which I like about them. The drums have an obviously fake sound but it other then that the sound is good. Well mixed and well produced just no drummer so it’s all programmed.
I gave the CD an 85 because I really like it; yes it’s a high rating for a band consisting of 2 people in Japan with no drummer, but it a great CD that I will listen to for years to come. The only complaints: lame into, but I never hold this against a band. The last song is crappy, its like from a radio broadcast of something, so I just figure it to be a bonus track and it doesn’t disappoint me. Track 2: IN APOC… whatever… isn’t a very strong song, but the rest are. Naked Loser is awesome, Seventh Son of Heaven’s Bitch, and my Bloody Birthday are all killer tracks that left me seriously impressed with this release. Those three songs and filler would be a good CD, but the other tracks hold their own making this a very worthwhile release. Enjoy it if you can find it, if you can’t don’t hang yourself but I think this is a great CD.
