Can You Feel It? - 88%

Erin_Fox, October 28th, 2006

On their seventh release in seven years, Pro-Pain thrusts a blade into the heart of the Bush administration with a scathing ten track effort.

Over the years, Pro-Pain has consistently churned out decent quality hardcore infused metal with moderate success. This latest release shows a great deal of maturity for this group and finds them thrashing as intensely as ever on tracks like the savage “UnAmerican” and the skillfully arranged “Hate Marches On”, which is certainly one of the stronger tracks on this record.

Gary Meskil’s voice is as strong and commanding as ever as he snarls like a pissed off Doberman on the instant neck-snapper “One World Ain’t Enough.” During this track, they show the young upstarts how to break a cut down properly and flex right back into the powerful melody line without breaking a sweat. Meskil’s lyrical banter is excessively political as he makes damn sure that he is getting his point across on this record.

A thrashing blast that is anything but subtle, “Operation Blood For Oil” lays out this political message perfectly. At this point in their career, Pro-Pain are undergoing a revitalization that began with the success of last year’s “Can You Feel It” single and gains even further momentum with this slamming set of hardcore metal.
