After Forever - Follow in the Cry / Silence from Afar

Decent single - 75%

ModernPrometheus, May 16th, 2003

Because this is more like a collection of tracks, I will give seperate eviews per track.

1. Follow in the Cry
This song is basically a shorter edit of the album version, but it's a great song that starts with some Arabic instrument (don't ask me what's it called...) and has some really heavy guitar work. The riffs sound typical After Forever. But what makes this song so memorable in the end is the chorus sung by Floor' angel voice.

2. Silence From Afar
Again an album song that was shortened for this single. It's a good After Forever track, but nothing special.

3. Wings Of Illusion
This song is the main reason why I bought this single, because it was previously unreleased. Wings Of Illusion was taken from their second demo which has a very good sound quality for a demo.

4. Mea Culpa
The intro for the album "Prison Of Desire", but without the instruments. Nobody was really waiting for this, but it's interesting to hear. Basically this track is just filler.

So, all in all, a pretty good single by After Forever, even though they offer you only one previously unreleased track, but which is a fantastic track though.
