StormHammer - Fireball

The Definition of Generic - 60%

thrashtildeath22, April 26th, 2008

Stormhammer are one of the thousands of bands that tried to cash in on the power metal movement when it got huge in Europe. For this reason a huge label (Century Media) snapped them up in the hopes of making a few bucks. They were soon dropped from said label, and with good reason. This is one of the most boring records I have ever heard. They latched on to every single power metal cliche they could get their hands on. The songs are weak except for catchy choruses that were obviously forced to be memorable. The song writing is completely cheesy and predictable. The tracks follow the stereotypical order: rocker, rocker, rocker, ballad... etc. And this is not to say that they are bad players, in fact they sound like perfectly good players. It's just that they didn't even try. They didn't try to find any standout quality that would hold them out from the crowd. There is nothing technically wrong with "Fireball," it's that there is nothing good or even noticeably band that highlights it in anyway. This is 100% forgettable. Only bother with this if you really REALLY fucking like power metal or collect it for some reason. Otherwise, steer clear.

Highlights: None.
