Unpure - World Collapse - 85%

UnholyPoser, November 7th, 2007

This album is a perfect one for lovers of primitive, yet well - written and well - executed old - school metal. You know what primitivity I mean, sometimes it gets into punk territories. On "World Collapse" Unpure deliver simple black/thrash metal but one can easily work out that it's like that beacuse they want it this way. Simple riffs, solos that sometimes sound like mr. Hammett a bit ("Never in Gold"), drums pounding onward in motorhead - style rhythms and a classical raw black/thrash vocal. Kolgrim doesn't change the pitch of his voice throughout the entire album, it's just a black/thrashing voice, and that's what suits this music fine. Comparisons? Mainly Bathory's influences can be heard, "Sabbath" even reminds of old NWOBHM heroes like for example Jaguar, just the vocal doesn't sound the 80's way. There are also some cool nihilistic lyrics to be found here too. If you like metal the old, headbanging and unfashionable way go and check out "World Collapse" - this one's for headbangers and old metal maniacs, not for music class geeks.
