Damn...it REALLY sucks that the guitarist of this band died. His tone was ungodly, and in my opinion, has yet to be matched in heaviness and intensity.
This band didn't fuck around with being brutal. Not passively brutal like say, Putrilage or Bane of Existence. I don't dig Purulent's first album nearly as much as this one. I think with this album, they really came into their own. The drums are the custom Colombia sound, blasting, tons of double bass with ultra-fast, ultra-slow tempo changes. The vocals fairly typical, ultra-deep guttural toilet rasps. The thing that has Purulent leaving the competition in the dust is the riffs. This is the top-five heaviest albums of all-time, easily. I don't know if Purulent's still around, nor if they can find a guitarist to match the intensity of David Rairan...rest in peace...
