Gorge This

It passes, but not just because it's brutal. It has style. But, it's also really...weird. So weird in fact, that it actually turns me AWAY. Normally, I'm one for strange stuff (see Dripping), but...this is just too random. The samples are barely interesting, and really do...not...fit...in. Just listen to Bowl Of Bowels to hear what I mean. What the fuck is that??

The album has a some great redeeming songs. Cadaveric Resin has an awesome beginning sample, and goes into some crazy coffeegrind drums. I know, I know, you can do pretty much ANYTHING with a drum machine, and while the band goes more overboard than even Retch on the thing, it still comes out pretty damn groovy, especially in this song. The really fast drumming is just annoying, though. Like...the REAL coffeegrind drums. The ones that sound like...coffee being...ground.

I can't even begin to state how damn weird this is, especially with crap samples like these, that have nothing to do with ANYTHING, save a few. If you're a fan of the OVERLY strange, get this, if not, get Dripping.

By the way, this is an EP, and it has 7 songs. It STILL doesn't clock in at over 15 minutes long. In fact, it's only 10 FUCKING MINUTES. So, don't expect to stay enthralled for THAT long.
