This band were one of the pioneers on the Russian death metal arena alongside Necrocannibal, Graveside, and Succubus who appeared at roughly around the same time when the big country decided it wanted to make a more wholesome contribution to the still standing death metal field. While the other three acts were oriented towards more technical ways of expression, our friends here went for the good old Floridian bash as exemplified on the works of Malevolent Creation, Morbid Angel, Brutality, and Obituary.

“She is Dead” is a pretty twisted opener with numerous less ordinary riff-patterns ala Morbid Angel flying around on a steady speedy base the latter preserving the brutality regardless of the frequent more stylish escapades. “The Howling” epitomizes a heaver approach with echoes of early Obituary with sophisticated melodic embellishments which completely disappear for the title-track, a straight-ahead headbanger with the good old thrash aptly helping on the side. “Leprous” is a remorseless vitriolic speedster with fast ripping riffs which get translated on the short exploder “The Monastic Wall”, 2-min of unbridled death metal fury before “A Town” brings back the refined technicality by retaining the speedy riff-formulas. “The Morn Approach” calms down the situation with heavy pounding rhythms bordering on doom, but “Mind’s Eye” returns to the hyper-active patterns with the blitzkrieg guitars, the pleasant twists and turns, and the heightened more technical vortexes.

The subdued gruff death metal vocals are totally stifled by the music which doesn’t exactly meander through all the technical/progressive traps installed, but at least provides a needed respite from the incessant bash that was still prevalent at the time all around the world. The Succubus and Necrocannibal official instalments were yet to come to life so this opus kind of set the scene for the arrival of the more engaging, more serious part of the death metal roster in Russia which took really lofty proportions merely a few years later in the face of the works of Succubus again, but also Hieronymus Bosch and Sieged Mind. The Death Vomit only effort remains a fairly pristine affair compared to those new arrivals, but one never knows how far down the technical/progressive rabbit hole these lads were going to reach if they had voted to regurgitate a few more tunes conformed with the more demanding tastes on the scene.
