Blood Stained Dusk - Continuance of Evil

Epic - 96%

Black_Metal_Bastard, September 27th, 2004

This is the new mCD from BSD and it is fantastic, absolutely great. Continuing in the path of their first full length, Dirge of Death's Silence, we have here 4 songs and 1 intro of supreme BM art. One thing you'll notice if you follow the band, is that the songs are a lot longer now, and way more epic than anything they have ever done. The keyboards are a very powerful force in this album, but they don't drown out the guitars or anything else. They are simply there, providing just the right atmosphere needed. The guitars are much more complex this time around, with multiple riffs in each song and fantastic solos. The vocals sound pretty much the same from Dirge, but are more pronounced I think. The bass is clearly audible at times, with the drumming being superb, even better than before. Lyrics are the usual satanic stuff, but they are well written, almost like poems.

The atmosphere presented on this album is breathtaking. I haven't heard this much atmosphere since Emperor. These guys are definately superb musicians, but also just a great fuckin BM band. These guys could be big(but not sell-outs), and could save America in terms of the BM scene. Pick this up now!
