Belligerence

Beyond Within's debut album Belligerence, is a turd of an album. There isn't any other way to put it. Perhaps the problem is that I just don't care for what they are doing, or perhaps it's the talentless songwriters.

I understand that this band was unsigned at the time of this release (and they probably still are), but that doesn't account for such a shitty guitar sound. It has no balls whatsoever. The production isn't horribly horible, the wussy guitars, tinny drums and even the bass are all audible, they just all sound like shit. The riff ideas in the songs are either simple, stupid, or both. The drumming sounds very ametuer, and better drum parts could certainly have been worked out for the majority of this CD. The riffs are predictable, and the solos are bland, or don't fit the song. Some of them are out of key. The voclas are utterly terrible, they grate me the wrong way. I don't even want to attempt to describe their ridiculousness. Avoid!
