Angel Grinder - I'll Wait Till You Bleed

A great start. - 92%

TheBigDizzle, August 20th, 2004

With this, Angel Grinder have brought forth a great first release, great thrash/death/black vocals, awesome riffs and powerful drumming make for one hell of a listen.

Kiel on vocals does an amazing job at varying the way he sings, sometimes it can sound more death like, and sometimes more black, it's good to hear and makes things more interesting.

The guitar work done by Phlesh and Myles is quite impressive to say the least, they use the ways of the old it seems and the ways of the new to make something new. You can maybe hear certain influences with the riffs, but it definetly still sounds like something all their own. They are fast and they never let up, they also play very competent solos which complement the music very well.

The Bass is well heard done by Ruckus, he definetly shines through on a few parts, but for the most part he follows the music well it would seem and gives it more of that fuller sound, which this release definetly features, a very full sound.

Finally, Ash on the drums does a great job behind the kit, he plays everything easily up to speed and it also just complements the music very well, it's always great when a band has a great drummer, and that is what Angel Grinder has.

The highlights for me would be 'Morbid Aggravation' for it's awesome bass work and 'Counting Black Sheep' for serving as an awesome opener for a great CD. Even the closer 'I'm sorry, I'm dead' is well done, it is a keyboard piece performed by Phlesh and what can I say, it just works. So yeah, if you can get this album, do it, it's cheap and it's great. Absolutely no song feels like filler, everything has something about it to make it feel like a better release than some veteran bands are putting out these days. So good job Angel Grinder, and here is looking forward to your next release!
