Bliss of Flesh - Lethal Ceremonies

Overwhelming And Murderous - 89%

SXIII, December 13th, 2005

When I first saw this band live, I enjoyed their gig a lot, but I had a feeling there was something missing. Not that it was bad, or had a bad sound, I just had the feeling this would sound better recorded than live. So I went to the merchandising stand and bought me their tape “Lethal Ceremonies”. And indeed, it DID sound better on this recording.
This tape is the band’s first studio recording. Their earlier demo was recorded in their rehearsal room. Bliss Of Flesh plays a very agressive mix of black and death metal, with touches of thrash here and there. It has a very overwhelming and murderous feeling to it, a feeling I particularly like. Usually I’m not into mixtures of black and death metal, but this tape is a very worthy item for everyone who enjoys music with a truely evil attitude. The riffs are very well structured, and although sometimes real fast, played perfectly. The vocals are fantastic. Terrorizt’s sick voice is powerful and fits the music just right.
There are 4 songs on this rather short demo, but I’d rather listen to a short and good recording, than to a long full-length with only some good tracks on it.
The booklet as well as the tape are very professional, with prints directly to the tape and lyrics included in the booklet. I expect a lot more from this band within the next couple of years.
