HATE – REPUBLICA DEL ODIO

This is the album in which Hate caught me into its net. Delivering a proficient thrash obviously influenced by Testament with socio-political lyrics and nice riffs. Really, this sounds too much like an effective thrash band from Argentina called Serpentor. It really does, but the thing is that the band is more modern than Serpentor and the riffs are a bit watered down, too.

The album starts with a decent intro and then Bang! THRASH belted out in an unconventional yet catchy fashion. “Corruptor” is a nice thrashy number, except halfway the song comes a segment in which we hear incoherent random noises. Anyway, the song is quite good. The title track and ”El Veneno y La Obsesion” are punchy even if a bit generic too, and then comes the chunky “Arquitectura Del Dolor” which is quite enjoyable for the most part but it suffers from inconsistence.

Conclusion: So, for the most part this is a good album but it is very flawed and too angular for my taste.
