Autumn Rain Melancholy - Seven Steps to Infinity

A beautiful bird is trapped in an emotional cage - 84%

yah, this is how you'll exactly feel after listening these songs. Autumn Rain Melancholy have grown much since their last album. On their last album the lyrics were barely audible but the atmosphere and symphonies were beautiful there but in this album they've a new line up, very good and simple female vocals, insanely harsh vocals and brillant and beautiful musicianship.

I feel so sad that I am unable to understand these lyrics because they're in Russian but they've conveniently conveyed their message through their music. This is a proper album with an intro, a gothic/doom metal song with clean vocals and after that there are songs with some extreme elements which almost bring this band to fall in the black - gothic metal category.

Forget about Theatres des Vampires, Therion or Tvangeste, their music is the real deal, I haven't heard such beautiful metal in my entire life, I am really impressed with their maturity, mostly bands who produce music like this mostly get carried away with the flashy keyboards and female vocals, but in this album you'll find that everything will be in proper order. Sadness, hope and every other abstract stuff that can be related with these two feelings can easily be experienced while listening to these songs. The atmosphere is brialliant as I've mentioned before, there're some unusual weather effects that astonished me completely and I was giggling like a little child with happiness when those parts went through my ears. The riffs are memorable on some songs especially on When Angels Die, the vocals are best on Snow, and the keyboards have added their beauty to all songs. I can't point out anything bad or week in these songs.

If you're looking for great musicianship then you should definitely check this album. You'll get a flavour of everything ranging from melodies, symphonies, depression, some harshness but mostly atmospheric & melancholic beauty.
