Death Warrant - Time of Dying

Very Good Mexican Speed Thrash Metal - 91%

LocoNoche, April 12th, 2009

This is an enjoyable speed thrash metal demo, indeed, even for being a demo, it has good quality (but not as great as a formal album), better than most of 1986’s era demos' quality.

The songs’ structure is speed thrash metal and sounds very badass, yeah. The songs are fast and aggressive, but mixed with the clean sound of speed metal. Vocals are very clean, not aggressive but, damn man! they fit just excellently well for the songs. The songs' sound and structure are aggressive and fast, as well as clean.

The atmosphere of this demo tries to be like the music: aggressive, fast, clean and understandable, and it does (well, at least in the music and sound, because lyrics can’t be understood at all because of the demo production quality).

The most listened instruments in the demo are vocals, guitars and drums. Bass can't be listened quite well; the instrumentation is the one that I listed before. Drum beats sound not very pronounced. They are listened for sure, but not as pronounced as a drum should be. So then, the most pronounced instrument is the guitar and it comes together with vocals.

Since lyrics can't be understood quite right, music could give you an idea of what the song is going to be about.

This is such good release, even for being a demo. Like I said before, I really recommend this demo to all people who likes and loves speed thrash metal coming from the famous "old school". You'll find so much old school sound and more stuff in these 5 demo songs, guaranteed.

It’s such a bad thing that we will never listen to these songs re-recorded for an album (and to have a full-length quality… that would be awesome), because the band split up after this demo, so this would be their last release.
