Pretty Maids - Spooked

One of metal's finest moments ever! - 100%

Brat1983, January 19th, 2005

First time I listened to this album was in august 1997 and I was completely blown away! How on Earth could it be possible to make an album as great as this? It's Heavy as Hell yet there's a lot focus on nice melodies. It rips your heart out one minute with a shredding kick ass solo or a monster riff from the riffmaster himself, mr. Ken Hammer, and the next minute it lets you relax with a slow passage or a ballad. Ronnie Atkins' voice is better than ever and Fast and Jackson delievers an extremely competent rhythmn section! Despite the fact that it's been more than 7 years since I heard it the first time, it still blows me away every time I listen to it! All tracks are killers, there's absolutely not the slightest sight of a filler anywhere on this album. Not even the cover of Kiss' Hard Luck Woman which the Maids turn into a much better tune than Kiss ever did. There's no stand out tracks here. This is one of those few metal albums that you just gotta listen to from beginning to end. EVERY FUCKING TIME! Pure heavy metal all over!

No metal collection should be without this one, so if you don't own it, go and buy it right now.
