Kutabare - Finger Food Fetish for the Morbidly Abnormal

Could be better... - 70%

An okay album but the band should really work on their songwriting cause all I could remember after repeated listens was slow down-tuned riffs and gurgling. The music has its moments when you hear some of the guitar tweaks beneath all that downed tuned thick riffing. And some of the soloing is enjoyable, a change in pace from the sludgy atmosphere that drags on and on. They remind me of The Day Everything Became Nothing but not as fast and catchy. The drums do get a bit fast but the riffing is slow and doomy so the riffs get lost behind the drums. Not much cohesion in the music. Vocals are okay, real deep indecipherable grindgore gurgles. But they do overshadow the music playing in the background cause again, the slow riffs become a problem. You can't make out the riffs cause the growls never let you digest them first. Most of the songs sound the same, just with minor solos that vary and a different movie track put in as the intro. It's not remarkable but you'll probably want to give this band a shot if you're a goregrind junkie with a huge collection of sick grind music. Didn't like the cover either, I can't stand looking at that ugly fat bitch.
