Trauma - Imperfect like a God

Sheer Genius! - 100%

Wormnoizz, October 22nd, 2004

After listening to this album for the 10000000th time i decide now to be useful and give the band the credit they deserve. I came across that album last winter, and geez i cant forget the day i first listened to it, goosebumps and all.
This album has nothing imperfect, the guitars are amazing, the riffs are so f**king awesome, catchy, and damn well written, you just can't feel it when they go from a progression to the other because it feels so logical and so natural as if the band reached the ultimate chemistry between its members and between them and the listeners, no not as if, they really did it, the bass guitar while not being of any dominance to the sound is put down in the right proportions, not being abscent and not going all wobbly over the music, its there to add even more depth to the compositions and helps create a hypnotic edge to the music. Lead guitars are absolutely killer on this album, once you come across the first solo in the first song i bet u will press the rewind button and listen to it over and over again, even the metalheads who know the least of the least about leads and stuff will be jumping in their rooms playing air guitar and going mental. Yes we're talking pyrotechnics here and virtuosity in playing. The best thing here as well is that you can never predict what's next, each time you try to imagine how the next riff or progression might sound like will have you taking the wrong guesses, and Trauma proving more skill at surprising you with fresh riffs and better ideas than the one you got. Vocals are perfect, hellspawned, vicious and PISSED OFF!!!! The drummer follows all that and even adds more and more to it, making every second on this CD enjoyable from start to finish.

The material itself of the album can be compared to Behemoth, Dies Irae, and Vader (no i'm not gonna mention all the polish bands i know hehe) but with a newer twist and spirit, it has all you want from raging riffs to moshing parts to the 10000mph blastbeats to hypnotic solos and did i mention that this CD is so damn catchy?

I'll spare you my ranting with one last word to say ... BUY or F**KING DIE!!
