Arsonist Lodge - Lihaa pedolle

An Interesting debut. - 62%

Anaktas, March 16th, 2008

Arsonist Lodge is the name, nice blackmetal is the game. In this (limited to 666 copies) 7", Finnish one-man act Arsonist Lodge give us a satisfying sample of their abilities (or to be more precise, of his abilities).

What lies within this small vinyl is Immortal-like black metal, relentless and interesting, fast and grim, but not something innovating. The fact that Arsonist Lodge do not reinvent the wheel (by no means), I believe that is done on purpose by the man behind the band, Diabolus Sylwarum. It is obvious that he is bound on creating enjoyable (if you can describe a blackmetal album in that way) music.

There are three tracks in this release, "loading the coffins" on side A and "in the lodge of the arsonist" as well as an outro on side B. And that's the negative thing when you get your hands on a 7". You don't get enough material in order to decide what's your opinion about it. So, I'll give it a 62% and I'll wait for Arsonist Lodge's upcoming full-length (apart from the other EP that is already released).
