What the hell... - 88%

It's sort of difficult to come across this album. When someone recommended me this project, it took me awhile to come across this, but when I did...

Well, let's just say, the drums are insane. It's the most captivating thing on this album, and you realize pretty quickly why it's brutal black metal. They are inhumanly fast. Now, unlike other bands that use drum machines (like The Berzerker), the drums are lower in the mix, therefore you can hear the excellent riffing, which in and of itself is some great, fast stuff. Although there are many passages in the album with slow parts and more atmospheric riffing, the true highlight of the album is the speed sections, which rival many brutal death and grind bands out there. It's just that fast, and it's damn good.

The main drawback of this album is it's length. 45 is a pretty good length for an album, but this album it's different. You are so used to the speed of this album, that when it's over, you will think, "WHAT? Already?" I guarantee it. The other main drawback is the vocals. They are pretty average, and to me, it's the only thing that holds this album back from being an amazing work. But everything else is perfect, and this is exactly what a new genre like brutal black metal needs in order to become more well known. I highly recommend this album to black metal fans, it's definitely a must-hear.
