Kingu Is Alive!! - 90%

CHRISTI_NS_ANITY8, June 14th, 2007

One year after the great album Hateful Attitude, Mind Snare are back with a new, violent full length. The new one was produced by an American label, the Forever Underground because the Malaysian one was forced to close because of Islamic religion problems. Finally they have a better distribution, also outside Italy.

From the point of view of the music, this album is another kick in the ass!! It's always brutal and fast like a train. After a small, acoustic intro the fury is unleashed with Blood Of Christ. Thrash, death and hardcore influences are mixed with brutal death metal to create a bomb. The refrain is catchy and the music is not chaotic, but simply powerful.
The following Reborn From my Death song begins quite slowly but after 30 seconds the band plays faster than before but always keeping in mind the “form” of the song. So there are always good refrains, great songs and the group is superb.

The title track is a good example of how can death metal can be very good even if is not played at the speed of light. Just during the solo part of this song there are blast beats but it is a short moment. Also the lyrics are different, in this song, from the most of other death metal band.

The intro part of Immortal Return is taken from the Marinetti “Manifest of Futurism”: very interesting and original. The rest of this track is pure violence; only in the refrain the band slows down to create an almost doom/death atmosphere. Here they glorify the war as the only hygiene for the world.
Their personal war is against hypocrisy and enemies, their honour, as written in My War song. One of the most violent tracks of this album. A small break can be found only in the acoustic Ungodly Human song, where the sound of the acoustic guitar let the listener relax a bit.

Influences of Deicide in particular can be found in Satan’s Breed in Blasphemous Eyes song, the song with the most evil feeling in the whole album. Simply great. The doomy, satanic track In the Name of Kingu ends this great, again, album where we can find lots of influences. This album is complete and here to stay.
