Insision - The Dead Live On

Well, Insision's first "big" release on (Mini) CD is certainly special. These "Swedes with a totally non-Swedish sound" sure know how to play their music; Fast, foul, furious and heavy. Despite the short length of the whole MCD (5 tracks and just under 10 minutes) it's certainly a release worth your while. Johan Thornberg does a great job on the vocals (especially on the last part of 'Exaggerated Torment') but his high-pitched screams lack a bit of power. All the instruments are very clearly distinguishable and the riffing by Joonas is very simple but powerful and effective, and one of the biggest improvements from all of Insision’s earlier releases are the guitar solos.
The drumming lacks nothing that a regular Death Metal band should have; a lot of blast-beats and speed but the percussion sometimes sounds as if it’s written by someone who can’t actually play drums, which is the only let-down.
All those who just want to listen to a great Death Metal release should consider picking this MCD up. You won't be disappointed!

Stand-out tracks: Exaggerated Torment, She Speaks No More.
