Khazad Dhum - Blackest - 65%

Satanic_Warmonger, January 12th, 2006

This album is really long and starts off really good. But overtime this album can get boring but manages to make up for it with a bit of creativity thrown in here and there. This creativity comes in the form of eerie atmospheres, sound clips, and surprisingly rather creative riffs, which is most uncommon in the majority of black metal music out there. You do get what you pay for, its not one of those 20 minute albums, its a big album, but there is some parts where you just sit there listening to what seems to be the same thing over and over, to me feels like filler but then again this may be Khazad Dhum's way of building up tension and atmosphere. If i reviewed this before listening to it more times, it wouldve had a much higher rating, but because of the above mentioned reasons, the more times you listen to it, the more the magic of it wears off and you begin to feel like its just alot of fill, and the creativity becoming less and less listened to in awe. First track is the best in my opinion. Check this release out.
