Plasmoptysis - Breeds of the Malevolence

Velocity that composed fast and phlegmatic - 80%

twan666, March 24th, 2010

As boredom prescribed myself to find more vehemence until this album released so convincible from a couple time ago by the transcendent label, Extreme Souls Productions. Uncompromising, the subjective sketches that tried to be raised by Plasmoptysis in this first full-length "Breeds Of The Malevolence". A recognition and suturing wraith explicitely from production although Plasmoptysis is constituted as a new comer band. 10 tracks- including an intro are purveyed to the Brutal Death lovers in the CD with untainted work for the cover.

I may say it's to conclusion but they tranfuse many zests to be deciphered here to invigorating interpretation precisely. I was a little lost before but the compositions from this album are brutal, energetic and directed aggressive indeed. Satisfaction is coming closer from the burden parts that they created into the rapid brutality. I drive a similarity to the Disgorge (U.S.) musicality particularly for it's intuitive gravity as well however originality from the primitive characteristic is absolutely logical -- plurality from the scene give much to reflect. The used tones are enthusiastic and obscure due the fast - thrilled - picking and vibrating also pinched of styles. There are not inferior techniques but easy to memorise because the feeling. the mediocrity is set above than the usual balance in Death Metal in some songs longitudinally that impacted by hyperspeed, 1/2 down - striking and so forth from drum. Unpredictably, the beats in some are also become the manuscript. So deadly to the format where i take opinion as Bandung Death Metal trademark than other specifications. Probably, the before hectic bands, those are Jasad and the crushers Lumpur get much respect about this band existence. Some tendencies endure real not except the theme frameworks that explain a few matters from psychology, profanity and anachronistic sides which poured with horrors and hyperbolic phrases about perversion. Guttural growl becomes the main fervour from this recording due the vocal pattern with some exploration. I should observe exhaling, but it's inhaling with the throaty fluency and so challenging, the damning. An austere mixture the legible musicality from the instrumental and textual works where the sound is emerged heavy, neat and killing, the atmosphere reaching the more level for Death Metal. The tracks, such as "Edan Maneh", "Carnage", "Breeds Of The Malevolence" drowned my innermost to the substantiality to aware with velocity that composed fast and phlegmatic. Not to be ended the truculence where the slower one "Devouring The Banished Mortal Remains" gives an unwillingness to the weakness with vibrating style and accurate tenacity from the pounding beats.

Like reviving enthusiasm, this album proves the role and the furour of oriental Death Metal to listen. Without irresolution, Plasmoptysis has formed itself to be a new tremendous generation for Brutal Death genre with the integrity of proficiency. I could say it's true if they are going to defend the skillfulness and experiencing towards all manifestations in scene. Before the curiosity is worthless, you are better to check this album and join with me to enjoy the multiple deaths from beneath.

Bursting cell walls and sanity - 68%

So here is one I needed to look up.

Plasmoptysis apparently refers to 'the bursting forth of protoplasm from a cell through rupture of the cell wall', and I can actually cede the fact that, while offering nothing new, this young Indonesian band seems true to their name, because there is some serious rupturing going on with this debut, enough that it feels like someone carving through your intestines with a hot, filthy knife, bacteria beginning to converge upon your now public viscera. Aside from this, we've got another of a million death squads that follow the trials of USDM legends like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, and Immolation while not ignoring the modern 'slamming' death sound that so many bands out there espouse these days.

I should point out, though, in the band's defense, they rarely if ever break into something huge and stupid, preferring instead for a very pinpoint, percussive speed in which the riffs curve and collide with one another, almost like a hyper thrash metal sauteed in Argha Riyan's blunt edged death grunts. These guys enjoy playing fast, and they write just enough interesting material to give the songs that surgical quality that I enjoy with my morning cup of brutality. Unfortunately, while tracks like "Edan Maneh", "Carnage" and "The New Age of Human Putrefaction" hit like a ton of bricks being fed at your face from a pitching machine, the tempo often feels so similar that you feel like you're listen to one mega, guttural force that is merely chopped off at the ends of certain entrails to create sausage links of slaughter. When the band deviates, such as the great riff that opens "Devouring the Banished Mortal Remains" or the curious if spastic "Dasamuka", I found myself starting to bang my head that much more.

There are other minor details I like about this band, like the cool logo and cover art, as well as the great dark ambient intro "A Putrescent Inception". I also like the drum sound a lot, often the cymbals will crash off like a panning effect and it's quite cool. But the album as a whole did not tear my spine out of my back and step on it. Plasmoptysis are a decent band, and it will be interesting to hear how they develop, for there is enough potential here to take the extreme death scene by force if they can just hone in on the songwriting a little further.

Highlights: The New Age of Human Putrefaction, Devouring the Banished Mortal Remains, Dasamuka
