Prostitute Disfigurement - Deeds of Derangement

prostitute disfigurement – deeds of derangement - 90%

skintrade, April 26th, 2004

When I first saw this album and when I heard the first tones, had I only one thought in my head: Another death/grind band with nothing special to offer. But then SLAM! Then did the Dutchmen break the speed of light and revealed their sick and very hard hitting universe for the writer.

The name of the game is ultra brutal death metal of the ugliest kind. The guitars are very down tuned and very raw. There are many sick and twisted leads, and some catchy leads too. The main riffs are at times catchy as well, men not always as original. Though there a great deal of superb riffs on the album.

The drum work is hard and direct. The bass drums are heavy as thunder, and the snare drum gets the crap beaten out of it, and the cymbals are getting their ass kicked. Pretty good and well alternated play, both the use of various drums and cymbals and the use og various rythms, makes it a great and catchy deal.

Try to imagine the lowest growl you’ve ever heard, and go a couple of tones lower. Then you have the growl of Prostitute Disfigurement. It is deep and it hidden low in the mix and it kicks ass. It is not varied much, but one never gets tired of the vokills, it just get stuck in the head.

This type of music has been heard many times before. But damn, it has been a while since I have been so touched by an album of this style. The Dutchmen are delivering all they have to, and a bit more. The band has already made some noise with their debutalbum, and I’m sure this will stir things even more up. This is goddamn superb, one of the most evil records this year, this how great death metal has to sound.
