Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition - 2

Fast and brutal as hell - 75%

Spawnhorde, May 12th, 2004

This is the second full-length (hence the name) of one of the best French gore bands, Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition. No lyrics here at all, just pure sick guitar and drums. The drum parts remind me of Brodequin at times, but are also technical and groovy at others. The riffs are slow and sludgy and go along with the songs very well. The dual vocals are great, EXCEPT for the goofy high screams. This album fails at a few things. First: Variability. I wish some of it was actually different, and while this band is kind of unique from most goregrind, their songs are not as unique from each other. Some of the track are catchier than others, with better synergy in vocals and guitar/drums. The track names...I have no idea if they were done that way so that they are unique, or what. Just makes it harder for me, the listeneer, to recommend songs to download, etc. But, overall this album is a solid release that grooves, gores, and gorges its way through the ears of the listener. Recommended for fans of Squash Bowels and Catasexual Urge Motivation.
