Abysmal Torment - Omnicide

Gorgeous - 97%

Let me just start by saying this album is absolutely stunning! Rarely have I been so satisfied. This is the only cd that i have ever been able to listen to all the way through, and remain well focused. This is 45 minutes that will at no part bore you. Honestly, the only reason I don't give this album a 100, is just because I don't give anything a 100.

But on to why Omnicide is so great. First off, it's is one of the most original sounding cd's I have ever heard, with completely unique vocals, guitar tones, and drums. Very creative. Terrific recording and sound quality I might add. Also, it's very easy to just let the cd play through because it's always changing. Not in genre, but tempos, beats, riffs etc... Because it's frequently changing it gives the album a very diverse feel, and is constantly changing directions. And there is just never a dull moment in this cd.

Talk about heavy, Omnicide has some serious weight to it. This album dominates your ears with an overwhelming, powerful, and just a superbly sludgy sound (One of the guys is even wearing a Disgorge shirt in their picture, so I think we know where they get that awesome sludge from!). Great energy! Everything in this albums fits perfectly, the drums, guitars, and vocals. Nothing seems out of place. Don't be mislead by my word choice though; in this genre, everything is putrid and ugly (but isn't that why it's so beautiful?).

I strongly recommend buying this cd to just about anybody who likes death metal. Even my friends who don't like metal as heavy as I do can't disagree that this cd is very entertaining and fun to listen to.
Buy it!!!

Highlights include: Embalment, & Rinsed in Shreds.
