The fact that this band isn't praised worldwide is a crime. Firereich is one of the best albums I have ever heard all the way through. The thrash is constant and pummeling, and the musicianship is top notch from beginning to end. If this album had to be compared to another, I'd say it's somewhat similar to Destruction's "The Antichrist" but heavier and not as fast [but at the same time faster].

Valkyrie starts the album off with a machine gun intro and goes right into an excellent riff. When the band comes in, it's nothing but headbanging all the way through. The vocals are all raspy shouting, but the main focus is on the guitars. A great way to kick off an excellent album.

Helldivizion starts out with some heavy chugging and has a somewhat decent middle break. Battlefield Genesis is headbanging all the way through. The middle break in this song is the best break on the whole album, and the church bell towards the end of the song is an unexpected plus. Warsong666 has a nice instrumental intro before going into a decent midpaced song, followed by Black Cross Burning. First half of the album = pretty good shit.

Martyrs Day kicks off the second half of the album with pummeling power. Noja vs. Arabia is a useless six second track, but it leads to Winterführer, the highlight of the album. It's fast compared to the last few tracks, and all of the riffs are heavy and pummeling. The middle solo is chaotic and fits so well. War Over Nordland is the fastest song on the album, and it is just as heavy as the rest of the album, just a bit more hectic.

Firereich, the closing track, is the perfect way to end the album. Try to not headbang to this. It's a culmination of everything else on the album in one song. Heavy midpaced parts, fast blastbeat parts, and soaring leads.

At the end after a few minutes of silence, there's a brutal and hilarious cover of Bon Jovi's "Runaway". That by itself is worthy of some bonus points.

Anyone that considers themselves a fan of blackened thrash should own this.
