Violence Will Dominate

There aren’t many Swedish thrash releases around, and even fewer good ones. When I got this one my hope was lit once again. And once again it was unlit hearing the first song of this demo. If this is quality, it is bad quality. I mean, guitars aren’t bad. They are real fast and thrashy. The drummer has the same qualities. But where, I ask, where is the song writing, vocals one can stand or even originality? The answer is not on this demo, at least. The vocalist screams even the vocals he try to do is far past what his range allows him to. I don’t think he has tried it many times either, as his technicality seems to be rather inexistent.

And then we have static thrash songs instead of intelligent song writing. They never move on. Mr. Strand just bashes his drums over and over again. Where’s the progression? Aha, there is none. And originality then? What to say when the riffs are all rip-offs? Well, it isn’t the music that sucks. Oppression only tries to do more than they manage to and the result isn’t pleasing. There is a potential for this band, but they are far, far from reaching it.
