Hangman - Sinners of Sodom

Marching to become the best thrash in Israel... - 78%

the_sound_of_nothing, December 14th, 2004

Hangman, a new thrash metal in israel, are showing that they are the best new thrash band in israel. The album starts with an intro of a marching people and in the end of it, Ze'ev Tenenboam (the vocalist of Salem) saying "All Rise for the Hangman". And after that, ironicly, comes the song "All Rise for the Hangman". The song has a good riffs, good drums, the solo's are nice and the lyrics are interesting. The vocalist need to work out on his voice, because right now he just sound like an drunk person(and even drunk people can sing good).
The next song called "Sinners Of Sodom". The intro of the song is really good and then comes the main riff who's a fast heavy riff. The vocals here are batter then "All Rise..." but still he need to work on that. The main solo of the song was played really good and again, very interesting lyrics.
The 3rd song called "MDK (Murder/Death/Kill)" is sounds like an old slayer song in every aspect - the guitar riffs, the solo's, the drums, the lyrics and allso the vocals. A really great song (I love when bands trying to sound like slayer).
And finally, the last track "Scum of My Earth" is Hangman special song to Mr. Yaser Arafat. The chorus "Your time is up you stayed here for far to long take your shit, pack your bags and go away." saying exactly what the band thinks about him. In the middle of the song you can allso hear Yaser in the backround. like the other songs, here there is allso a nice riff, good drums and batter vocals then the other songs. If there is only one song of them who i need to let my friend listen, it will be this one.
Hangman are still young band, I'm sure that in a few years they will be the best thrash band in israel. Maybe in the future they will re-master because the big downfall in the album is the sound of the tracks(I know it was record in israel, but still you can record it in a cleaner sound). But until then, good luck to Hangman in their future and can't wait to see you again playing.
