After I presented this fantastic death/doom metal band, and their first demo "Emotions...", now it's time for talking something more about their second demo "...To Apeiron". First of all, the time that passed between those two records is only half a year long, but some things changed. First of all, this album features much better production, courtesy of Mojo studio. Second of all, this one is NOT recorded on audio tape, but on CD, so again - production is better! "...To Apeiron" sounds very original, and Pandemonium's music could be described as melodic doom/death metal. This sound hasn't changed a lot. Maybe it is melodic a bit more, but still powerful and brutal. Vocals are still amazing - death growl could be compared to the ones in Vader, Opeth, Morbid Angel. Keyboards are used more often, but they are not overproduced like the ones in Children Of Bodom. "Frozen Meadows" sounds like it came from "Emotions...", with complex melodies and total playtime of 8 minutes. "Silent Tears" uses the power of keyboards very well and contrast given with clean vocals sounds very good. Dynamic song, exchaning fast and harsh parts, with soft/melodic ones. This is a very good concept, not original, but very refreshing indeed! In "...To Apeiron" you will be drown more into Pandemonium's world, with atmospheric keyboards and good guitar work. Atmosphere is so dark. I lose my words with this one... really, a perfect song! "...To Apeiron" is a step forward and if they continue like this, I think they will be one of the top bands in this genre. I recommend this to all fans of death/doom metal, especially to those one who love to explore newcomers on nowaday's scene... and to get surprised as well like me!
