From the moment I started listening to this band I realised that they aren't your average deathcore band. They truly kick ass to put it mildly. This is some of the most enjoyable deathcore that has graced my ears in a while. Since Bring me the Horizon caught my attention iv listened to a lot of deathcore but every time I come back to Postmortem Promises.

The EP kicks off with a self righteous which isn't anything special but keeps you going. Something to mention about it is that it has a separate or extra piece at the end with a different feel to it. At first I thought I was listening to a whole new song but then I saw it was on the same track. The best part of this EP is the last 3 songs, but my personal favourite is "empalement of the martyr" which has the longest breakdown iv ever heard it also combines the ever popular pig squeal but the true gem which I love is the simple bass line at the end. It adds that death metal feel to it.

The vocal range is quite impressive as it ranges from harsh screams to death growls to the pig squeal even the odd gang shouts appear in a song. The vocals are brilliant and even after the hundredth pig squeal I just can't get enough of it.

This EP just has that creative edge over the rest of the deathcore scene bands. It feels like PMP has actually taken the time to record your average deathcore EP but they added a little something in every now and then just to make you sit up a listen some more.

Metal purists would call this "shit" and say that "this isn't music" but just take it from where it comes. I myself am not a huge fan of the genre but Postmortem Promises just has that "something" that makes them stand out from the rest of the now stale genre
