Profanation - Lustful Screams of Torture - 100%

Phuling, April 19th, 2008

Third album by Profanation, and damn what a blast it is. The two previous albums were self-released, but distributed by Morbid Records. This, however, is a genuine Morbid Rec’s release. Both "Dead man rotting" and "Dead body fuck" were outstanding records, but "Lustful screams of torture" absolutely shatters its predecessors. What Profanation offers here is without a doubt one of the best albums I’ve heard in the genre. Seriously arse-shredding, ultra brutal, whiplash-inducing deathgrind mangling.

Be it the chainsaw guitars, pummeling bass, blasting drums, growling and screaming vocals or the lethal lyrics – everything kills! The musicianship is top notch, and you get a full dose of ultra blasting as well as wickedly heavy breakdowns. I’m in lost for words here, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything like this. The ultra slick and brutal tunes are skillfully given a creepy and disturbed edge by the intro and samples. And speaking of disturbed, I cannot end this review without mentioning the lyrics one more time. They take up fairly common gore topics (cannibalism, torture etc), but in an extremely wicked manner. And two tunes, "Seals of massacre" and "Worship me", even have lyrics originally written by Aleister Crowley.

Absolutely ace from start to finish.
