Flesh Made Sin - Masterwork in Blood

Flesh Made Sin - Masterwork In Blood - 78%

Harachte, October 24th, 2004

Things are going very, very well for Flesh Made Sin, according to their latest effort “Masterpiece In Blood”. These four Dutchmen are well at home at making some furious eighties-influenced Thrash Metal and obviously, there’s one band they all like. Yes, the old Slayer.

Which says enough already. Very tight played, massive riffing is blown through your speakers, of which tracks like “Tormentor” (now where did I see that title before…?) and “Taste The Knive” are perfect examples. Closing track “Slicing The Throat” reminds me more of a band like the buried and forgotten Rigor Mortis.

It has to be said that Twans’ vocals sound rather more modern and Flesh Made Sin isn’t exactly a copy of the old Gods of Thrash, but I’d reckon that fans and other addicts of blistering Thrash Metal (and there are plenty) will read these words and start start thinking about giving “Masterpiece In Blood” a try.

Just like Slayers’ “Reign In Blood” this CD stays well under half an hour, which is just the feature that didn’t exactly brighten my day too much…

Flesh Made Sin - Masterwork In Blood - 80%

The Dutch thrash metal band FLESH MADE SIN is certainly no unknown in the Dutch and Belgian underground.
In the month June of the year 1999, four men came together with each the same interests and the same goal: (to produce) thrash metal in the traditional ’80’s style. From this ambition the band FLESH MADE SIN came forward. Influenced by ’80’s thrash metal bands like DESTRUCTION, SLAYER, KREATOR and DARK ANGEL the band released two CD’s. Which called “Scenery or Death” (May 2000) and “Masterwork In Blood” (October 2002).
Because they couldn’t find a suitable label for the release of the album “Masterwork In Blood” the band decided to release the album on their own Thrashing Hell Records label. “Masterwork In Blood” knows six furious thrash tracks. Actually five, because the intro hasn’t got anything to do with thrash metal. After the 1:44 minutes during intro, ‘Lustful Killing’ beats in. This is one of my favorite tracks on the album because of the great drumming en the great guitar riffs. On ‘Tormentor’ (no, it’s not a KREATOR cover) FLESH MADE SIN gets help of Mikael ‘Cab’ Castervall from the bands HYPNOSIA (RIP) and INCINERATOR. The track ‘A Masterwork In Blood’ begins with a ‘spoken word’, after which the number is building up on speed. ‘Slicing the Throat’ is a great head bang number (just like the other numbers on this CD by the way).
You will get no deficiency at fast ragging guitar riffs, fast pounding drum plays and thrashing vocals on FLESH MADE SIN’s “Masterwork In Blood”! If you are into bands like Destruction and Kreator you surely will like this album!

Outstanding tracks are Lustful Killing, Tormentor and Taste the Knife.
