Genitales from the Porno Potty

With a name like “Sexcrement” I’m sure there is a lot of skepticism about whether or not these guys actually put out some good music that’s actually worth listening to, but let me assure you, these guys make are outstanding musicians. With their dual vocals, groovy as fuck riffs and drums, and their gratuitous amount of hilarious, sex-related lyrics, you get “music you fuck to.” And as an added bonus, they have, what seems like only a few death metal bands have, a bassist you can actually hear quite clearly.

The vocals are for the most part, are somewhat normal growls and screams, but there’s something about them that sets them apart from other bands, and I have no idea what it is… As contradicting as that sounds, it’s the best way to describe them. The screams are amazing, despite my usual hatred for screams, with some exceptions, and the growls are mostly normal growls but every so often, Adam pulls off these very unique growl-like vocal that is just awesome.

The instrumental side of this band is outstanding. Their guitarist is obviously very talented and plays some groovy as fuck riffs as well as some far above average death metal riffs (nothing around technical death metal but definitely more technical than Cannibal Corpse or Aborted). The bassist also has talent and is actually heard! Although he is primarily following the guitarist very closely, he is prominent in every song and even shines more in some songs. The drums seem pretty simple, as far as death metal goes, and add to overall groovy-ness, and metal side of the band exquisitely.

Their lyrics are undoubtedly not the most intellectually stimulating ones by any mean, but are as funny as hell. With track names like “Granny Tranny Midget Fetish,” “Paraplegic Pussy Pounder,” and “Glory Hole Caserole” need I say more?

I honestly can’t find anything wrong, bad or displeasing about this CD in any way, so I see no reason this CD deserves nothing less than 100%. Despite their name and any negative assumptions people may have because it, they are simply amazing. I myself had very little hope the first time hearing them; now, they are one of my all-time favorite bands, and I highly recommend picking up their CD if given the chance. If you like groovy music and/or death metal at all, you will not be disappointed.

Sexcrement are an incredible band. Adam Mason is the frontman of this band and he should be focused on this band. He's cool in Goratory, but he's just simply amazing in this band. Sexcrement are one of the best new bands in death metal, in my opinion. This album should be talked about a lot in the realm of death metal for quite a while. I really think it is going to be a classic in the years to come. Right now it may not be talked about, but in a few years it might gain some attention. I hope it does gain attention, it's that damn good.

Botched Boob Job starts off the album really nicely. The drums are pretty damn solid on this track. I really enjoy this track a lot. The vocals really rule on this. The drummer uses the china crash very effectively. He puts it to really good use. The drummer really sounds excellent on this track. The drums are the highlight in this song. Death metal drummers should listen to this track and listen to it well. The drum fills are nice on this track. Yeast Erection has some really good blast beats found here. The drumming is superb on this track. The vocals are the highlight, in my opinion. The vocals are really damn on this track. The following track is funny and interesting. It features some good blast beats, guitar work and vocals. I really dig the vocals and guitar riffs in this song.

Colostomy Bag Condom is my favorite track on this album. It features awesome drumming and vocals. The lyrical content is really wacky and it has nothing to do with the song title at all. This song made me get the album. I remember being really addicted to this song when it was added on their MySpace page. I listened to this a lot. This is a really solid track. The tracks following this one are pretty good such as Menstrual Money Shot,
Paraplegic Pussy Pounder and the closer Beef Curtain Call. There is not one bad song to be found on this album.

Another track that must be mentioned is Granny Tranny Midget Fetish. This is a sick track, musically and lyrically. There's hints of technical death metal in this song! I can tell by the guitars and drumming. I really enjoy this track. One of my friends is pretty impressed with this song. I know why, he's into technical death metal stuff. The sample in the beginning is funny as all hell. This was the single Sexcrement came out with before it made onto the album. It was actually a rough mix.

This one is actually worth buying. I suggest you don't download this one. A lot of effort was put into this release. Genitales from the Porno Potty is a rather silly name for an album and even features silly album cover artwork, but don't judge the album by its title and cover.

I got this in a blind trade with the guys from Embryonic Devourment and damn if I'm not happy I got it. 'Genitales From The Porno Potty' is probably the best straight-up death metal debut of 2007 and every member of Sexcrement must have an IQ of fucking 160 to pull off something so retardedly brilliant. This is better than 90% of death metal out there without a doubt and I'm amazed that more people aren't listening to it.

Sexcrement plays pure death metal that's totally, totally focused on groove. It's not slam death or stereotypical brutal death, it's just straightforward death metal with groove riff after amazing groove riff. The structures of the songs are all essentially the same, using fast, somewhat technical tremolo riffs to build tension that gets released by AMAZING oldschool DM grooves. A sloppy, disgusting high/low dual vocal attack just adds to the perfection, slathered all over the great music like so much repulsive icing. The production's incredibly clear and heavy, drums are played perfectly, what else is there to ask for?

There's honest to god maybe two moments on this disc that aren't totally amazing and the rest is just absolutely great. Sexcrement has a fucking monopoly on amazing, syncopated groove sections that are memorable and command one to headbang. There's nothing to even say about it, it's an incredibly simple album with just one idea behind it: make amazing grooves that are heavier than a rhino's scrotum and just slap the listener in the face with them over and over and over for half an hour.

Just buy it, there's nothing to even think about it. If you like death metal, if you like grooves, if you like good music, just get it. It's amazing, stupid glory that the whole death metal scene could learn something from. BUY IT NOW!
