Mordred - Esse Quam Videri

My favorite Mordred era is the "In This Life" era. Good tunes, perfect combination of funk rock and thrash metal... It's the simply awesome Mordred. "Falling Away" is a great EP and "Esse Quam Videri" doesn't let you down either.

This single / EP features a very cool remix of the classic Mordred song "Esse Quam Videri". This version is known as "the street version" and it is a little more hip-hop oriented than the original. It's better as well. The two live tracks lived up to my expectations and also shows what a great band Mordred was live. Especially "Every Day's A Holiday" was great since Scott Holderby changed the lyrics from "I like to sleep all day" to "I like to fuck all day". That shows that they have some humour as well. The live version of "Killing Time" kicks ass and I might even like this live version more than the studio version. Great power.

The production on the "Esse Quam Videri" remix is a little different from the "In This Life" production unlike the "Falling Away" EP which sounded the same as the full-length album. The live tracks sounds great too and the band has done an awesome job on stage, performing the songs.

I strongly recommend this one as well as the rest of the Mordred releases. It's a great little single / EP and it should be enjoyed with a cool drink... Or some kind of burning smoke-candy if you wish so.
