Well... - 60%

This is another generic brutal death metal release. It sounds like a combination between Brodequin and Disgorge (is not surprising that the band members come from those bands...).

It has every single element that has been overused by the recent death metal bands. It has the generic, yet somewhat effective riffs. It has the "look, I scream like a fucking pig being anally raped" vocals. It has, well, it would be better to say that it lacks a solid bass sound. It has your average blastbeats. And it has clichéd intros. And, even though it may sound like a dumb album, it's quite entertaining for a while. But it has one major fault, which drops a lot of points. Take, for example, Undying (the first track). After the predictable, yet bereable, intro, you're introduced to the brutality of the modern US death metal scene. It can be described as shown here:
-The vocals sound something like this:
BREEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-BREEE-BREE-BREE-BREE (and so goes during the entire record). If you're familiar to the sound of the aforementioned BDM bands, it won't annoy you. If you're into power, proggy, gothic and alikes, well, just go get the latest Rhapsody/Dream Theater/Tiamat/whatever.
-The drums sound something like this:
RATATATATATATATATATATATATAT-TATATATATATAT.
Again, for the fans of the genre it's ok. If you don't like it, this won't change your mind
The riffs are not exceptional, but, again, if you're fan of this sound, it won't be a matter.

So, all this sounds good for the fans of the genre, but after a minute, something wrong starts to happen. The intruments start to slow down. And then, the slammy riffs come in. Damn you, Devourment! I can imagine, while these riffs are being played, some retardeds wearing Waking the Cadaver hoodies hardcore dancing this, because it makes'em look "sZooO br00TalL!!1!". Yeh, whatever. And the same happens in the other songs on the EP.

If you like this kind of sound, you'll praise this band as the "overlooked all-star brutal death metal band" or some thing like that. Otherwise, you'll hardly enjoy this.

Starts off with a nice sample intro, then drops into simple blasts with great pig squeal like vocals. A few brilliant pinches here and there. Musically, the music is brilliantly tight. The drumming needs to fit in and suit the rest a bit more though. But the riff work on "Recapitated" is fucking unreal, time change galore. And as for the vocals, guttural supreme. This band are tough and have hard breakdowns and nice changes in every song. With expert drumming they could be fantastic. But all in all, it is just a simple, but affective release, with great vocals and brutal crunchy riffs. I hope their future variation improves just a bit, but their brutality stays the same.

A decent offering by vocal god Matti. - 83%

For a simple Brutal Death Metal release, this really fucking kicks ass! That's the thing though. Notice I said simple. There really isn't much here but some really fucking heavy and really fucking fast music with (of course) the sickest vocalist to be found anywhere aside from (Devourment's) Ruben Rosas. In all honesty, this would have been alot better if the riffs were written a bit better. The blastbeats are what we all have come to expect from the typical everyday band of this genre, still this does deserve a little more attention and garner some more respect/appreciation than your 'generic' Brutal Death Metal Band... only because Matti's vocals improved so much since his departure from Disgorge (Ca) and his final masterpiece for them, She Lay Gutted; and help the band out so much. They use some good samples every here and there also, which I really don't mind, since they use them in moderation unlike bands alike Mortician and they aren't annoying. Worth checking out, not mandatory, but I would recommend it if you are into the typical Brutal Death Metal... like me.
