Hypocrisy - Live & Clips

A Fair DVD of an Excellent Band - 80%

Cretaceous_Bob, October 7th, 2006

"Live & Clips" is (as of this writing) Hypocrisy's only DVD, excluding the bonus DVD that came with "Virus", and only covers songs up to the "Abducted" album. The good parts of this album are obvious: death metal legends doing what they do best. But there are a few bad points. First of all, the footage of the concert, for some reason, has random footage added in between songs. I, for one, don't entirely appreciate seeing bare naked dude ass while trying to watch Hypocrisy. Secondly, the content on the DVD is rather scarce.

Regardless, its a very simple question that will tell you whether or not you should buy this: are you a fan of Hypocrisy? If you like their stuff, you want to own this. If you don't, this DVD certainly won't convince you otherwise. It does, however, contain some nifty things that will please a fan. One, the music videos from Penetralia and Osculum Obscenum. Two, Peter TÃĪgtgren does the vocals in the live performance of songs off the aforementioned albums. If you're like me and didn't particularly like Masse Bromberg's vocals, then you'll certainly want to buy this album.

But overall, this DVD is an outdated relic. Hypocrisy has changed alot since its release, and a new DVD would be very cool.
