Vomit Remnants - Supreme Entity

The driving force of MM records slays the weak! - 90%

Spawnhorde, January 19th, 2004

The band who owns (no pun intended) Macabre Mementos releases an LP worthy of being called brutal! This album is fucking sick. There's not two ways around it, it's just crazy. Containing some of the ssweetest riffs I have ever heard come out of a brutal death band's guitarist, and having some really annoying yet catchy drums, this is one helluva release. Leading off with Putrefying Dead Flesh, you can already tell the album's general direction. Featuring 2 main styles of vocals, really low and brutal vocals and high screechy vocals, and sometimes a mix of the two, the vox is one of the best parts here. The main hooks of the album are the first track and Engorgement. They display the greatest drumming and riffing on the album. The guitars are tuned really low and have a really dead, dim feeling to them (except for the lead riffs and whatnot). I particularly like this decision. Instead of makign the BG guitar really upbeat, they took away almost all of its use. While this may sound bad, it combines with the bass to create a nice wall of sound in the background of every song. Don't even get me started on the song that started it all...Macabre Mementos. Man, this song is awesome in every way. Starting with a very profane dialogue (filled with nearly "shit"s and "fuck"s as a South Park episode), and continuing into a sludgy riff with some of the best vocals on the album, this is a track to remember. You know what? This whole album is worth remembering.
