Unholy Trinity - Omnimalevolence

Deadly Brilliant - 96%

Baal_Graphics, August 15th, 2007

Haven't you realized that it's very common to find a coin in the ground, but it's not common to find a valuable relic? Imagine Unholy Trinity is that relic. There are many bands that are enjoyable, but there aren't many bands that are truly unique, and truly fascinate me. It might be a bit cliché to say, but Beherit is also equal to that relic. Many have tried to get to the same standard. Truth is that there are only a selected few who managed to make the music just as evil and obscure, and even less who managed to do this without copying other bands. I can tell you that Unholy Trinity is one of the latter.

This release hasn't got an introduction; it starts right in the middle of the excitement of this dreadful discovery. There are some really nice riffs on this release that you never really hear anywhere else in this form. At times it's melodic and rather glorious, but never ceases to strike the listener right through their soul, and it never ceases to disappoint any fan of raw and/or cult Black Metal either, I can imagine. Unholy Trinity is quite fast, and doesn't slow down for a moment. The drum work is great. No blast beats are present, but that is unnecessary and even unwanted here. The drum work is like a constant stream that serves as a fundamental wave for the element that makes Unholy Trinity so unique.

The truly unique element of this music is the vocals. They are deep and raw, but not like growls. Really, there are no words for it. All I can say is that it is unlike any other vocals. You have to hear it to believe it. I'm quite sure the vocalist has Polish roots, as the song names are all in Polish, and I believe so are the lyrics. Whatever language the lyrics are, it sounds from beyond this world in combination with the vocalist's inhuman throat.

“Omnimalevolence “ will be an unforgettable experience for everyone interested in Black Metal. Definitely recommended.
