Necrotorture - Blood Feast

Necrotorture - Blood Feast - 90%

Phuling, April 23rd, 2008

What we have here is the first release from Extreme Underground, the sublabel of Brutal Bands. And lemme tell you that fans of the BB roster shouldn’t worry, ‘cause eventhough it’s released on its sublabel it sure-as-hell doesn’t lack the brutality and quality that we’re used to from the label.

Brutal, fast grinding death metal with a gory touch. The description might sound like just about any other band in the genre, but this is way better than a lot of other bands due to the high quality tunes and musicians. Necrotorture features Alex from Hour of Penance on vocals, but while this is still brutal death metal it has a lot more grindcore influences than said band. Heavy and churning riffs will greet you upon your entry to the Blood Feast kingdom. However I advise that you do not leave your children unattended as they might get scared by the rabid cookiemonster growling, screaming and grunting. And if he doesn’t get ‘em the meatwagon of death (aka the drummer) will most certainly get ahold of the tiny humans and take pity on their puny lives. This is nothing but a pure feast for the gore, grind and death metal lover. And while five out of the six tracks are leaning way more to death metal than grindcore the grind lover will get his turn with the ending track Chiavica.

The album’s worth its price for the awesome artwork alone! And for a debut studio recording to be this mind staggering can only make me dream of what they can come up with in the future.
